South Korea's capital is Seoul.
It is situated on the Han River (Han-gang) in the country's northwest, with the city center 37 miles (60 kilometres) inland. Seoul is South Korea's cultural, economic, and political center. It's the throbbing core of South Korea, is famous for its technology, traditional palaces, and K-Pop scene.
Seoul is a contemporary metropolis with a strong sense of tradition. It's a lively city with old restaurants and towering skyscraper that likes to party late into the night.
There are a number of to get away from the crowds, including the top of Inwangsan, the city's own mountain and best viewing point.
